Little Jamie MacPhail turned from schoolboy into centurion this week ... on a visit to Kinneil Museum in Bo'ness.

The six-year-old donned a Roman outfit to help promote World Heritage Day this coming weekend.

The Museum and Kinneil House will be open on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, as part of a worldwide bid to get people to visit World Heritage Sites, like the Roman Antonine Wall at Kinneil.

The Friends of Kinneil charity has teamed up with Historic Scotland and Falkirk Community Trust to run the Bo'ness event. There will be free House tours (last admissions 2.30 p.m. each day), a costumed interpreter, giveaways for children ... and Ranger walks to that all important Roman fortlet on Kinneil Estate.

The weekend event will also mark the first anniversary of the opening of the John Muir Way, the coast-to-coast trail which runs through the Estate. For full details and times, visit www.kinneil.org.uk or pick up a leaflet in Bo'ness library and other local outlets.
